Rice U. ROTC Will Present The Colors.
(Houston) - Singer Amanda Perry will be the featured entertainment the evening of December 5th at the Reception and Fundraiser for Jeff Daiell. Daiell is a candidate for the 2010 Libertarian nomination for Governor of Texas.
Ms. Perry, a graduate of Houston's High School for the Visual and Performing Arts, will sing "Texas, Our Texas" with the Rice University ROTC presenting the colors.
Campaign Manager Christie Cole-Pearson, a former Miss Texas Teen USA, will speak on why she decided to support Jeff Daiell and the Libertarian Party. David Smith, seeking the Libertarian nomination in Texas' 2nd Congressional District, will discuss why he and Jeff Daiell are endorsing each other in their respective races.
The candidate will state why those at the Reception should support his candidacy.
"It's been said that if you weren't a liberal at 16, you didn't have a heart, and if you weren't a conservative by 25, you didn't have a head; supporting my libertarian campaign allows one to use both," Daiell will point out.
"Volunteering for and contributing to my campaign is in your self-interest, while also providing a better quality of life for ALL Texans."
The Reception, from 8 PM until 9:30 PM, will be at The Houston Garden Center, 1500 Hermann Drive in Houston.
Daiell holds the record for the most votes, and the highest percentage, by a Libertarian nominee for Governor of Texas. In his current race, he has campaigned in 21 counties, with more scheduled.
Daiell's platform combines support for free enterprise with respect for civil liberties. Several planks are already posted at the campaign's website, www.JeffDaiell.com. The campaign also has two separate Facebook pages (Daiell for Governor), and is on Twitter (WeAreTexans).
