DEBRA MEDINA FOR GOVERNOR OF TEXAS LAUNCHES NEW TELEVISION AD: "FACE THE DEBATE"

Republican candidate for Governor of Texas Debra Medina’s gubernatorial campaign today released a new television ad, entitled "Face the Debate" criticizing Governor Rick Perry’s and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison’s posturing on public debates including Debra Medina.

The ad will first air in Dallas and Fort Worth to further pressure north Texas public-television station KERA to include Debra Medina in the Republican Primary debate KERA is hosting on January 14.

“It is downright shameful that a publicly funded TV station such as KERA would succumb to the political antics of Governor Rick Perry”, said Campaign Manager Penny Langford Freeman, “We Texans won’t stand for this insolence and we have no qualms putting Rick, Kay or KERA on notice.”

KERA confirmed Debra Medina’s attendance for the debate only to rescind the invitation to her after Governor Perry’s campaign complained about her participation.

Script For "Face the Debate" (:30)

DEBRA MEDINA:

Fellow Texan’s, my name is Debra Medina and I’m running for governor, but guess what? Rick Perry and Kay Bailey Hutchison don’t want a debate with We Texans...they don't want a debate with me.

Because they think WE, the average Texan, shouldn't have a say in the future of our Party, in the future of our state. If you want an open debate, join me and help me send a message to Rick and Kay to face the State...face We Texans...face the debate!

I'm Debra Medina, Republican for governor for Texas.
