(Houston) - Jeff Daiell, a candidate for the 2010 Libertarian nomination for Governor of Texas, has appointed David LeBlanc his campaign coordinator in State Senate District 17.
LeBlanc, a security supervisor for Westex Security, is a 9-year veteran of the U. S. Army. He is married and has a daughter.
Mr. LeBlanc's responsibilities will include seeking volunteers with the district, arranging campaign events (including speaking engagements), and serving as the campaign's contact person within the district.
He will also be an Assistant Director of Research, serving under Dr. Stacey Bourland. Accepting the position, Mr. LeBlanc said, "2010 can be the year in which Texans currently aligned with one or the other of the tax-subsidized parties realize that only the Libertarian Party will look out for their Rights and their interests. I hope to make District 17 Jeff Daiell's best State Senate district on Election Day."
Daiell added, "I have worked from the beginning of the campaign to have this candidacy be more active, more organized, and better funded than any previous Libertarian run for Texas Governor. Mr. LeBlanc's appointment is a significant step toward that goal, and there will be many others."
