Campaign Manager: Move Shows Daiell Knows How to Run Statewide
(Houston) - The Jeff Daiell for Governor Campaign is proud to announce the appointment of Bob Phipps, Sr., as Campaign Coordinator for Jasper County. Mr. Phipps is currently an insurance fraud investigator in Brookeland.
Mr. Phipps, 67, had been elected to the Sour Lake City Council in 1996 with 82% of the vote three years after joining the Libertarian Party. He thus adds considerable political experience to the growing Daiell campaign staff.
He served two terms as Vice-Chair of the LP of Texas. He also helped organize affiliates in Hardin, Jefferson, and Orange counties, showing his talent for attracting Texans to the Libertarian cause.
Active in the Knights of Columbus, he now owns Frontier Adjusters, investigating large commercial losses and specializing in accidents involving 18-wheelers.
Mr. Phipps's duties will include recruiting Jasper County volunteers, arranging campaign events (including speaking engagements), and serving as the campaign's contact person within the County.
Campaign Manager Christie Cole-Pearson said of the appointment, "This shows that Jeff Daiell knows how to run a Statewide race. That's one credential the 2010 Libertarian nominee for Governor of Texas simply cannot afford to lack."
In accepting the position, Mr. Phipps cited one of his favorite quotations, Edmund Burker's observation that, "All that is necessary for the forces of evil to win in the world is for enough good men to do nothing."
Like Daiell himself, Mr. Phipps refuses to do nothing. Daiell holds the record for the most votes, and the highest percentage, by a Libertarian nominee for Governor of Texas. In his current race, he has campaigned in 21counties, with more scheduled. Daiell's platform combines support for free enterprise with respect for civil liberties. Several planks are already posted at the campaign's website, www.JeffDaiell.com. The campaign also has two separate Facebook pages (Daiell for Governor), and is on Twitter (WeAreTexans).
