(Houston) - Jeff Daiell, a candidate for the 2010 Libertarian nomination for Governor of Texas, has appointed David LeBlanc as his campaign coordinator for Harris County.
Mr. LeBlanc is a security supervisor for Westex Security. A 9-year veteran of the U.S. Army, he is married and has a daughter. Mr. LeBlanc's duties will include recruiting Harris County volunteers, arranging campaign events (including speaking engagements), and serving as the campaign's contact person within the County. He describes himself as "a family man and American citizen wanting to protect the rights of all citizens and the future of our children".
Daiell welcomed Mr. LeBlanc into his new position, which he will add to his position as State Senate District 17 coordinator, saying, "Once again the Daiell For Governor Campaign shows that it can reach out to Texans of all walks of life. Together, we will bring the voters a chance to expand opportunity, allow school choice, increase respect for civil liberties, and make our homes, streets, and schools safer. We know it can be done, because we're Texans."
Accepting the position, Mr. LeBlanc pledged, "I will represent Jeff's campaign and the Libertarian Party and bring it into the forefront of Harris County voters. I will present a viable alternative who will respect the Rights and choices of Harris County voters. I will do this proudly as a Texan and an American who loves his country."
Daiell will address four college classes in mid-November, followed by a speech in Lufkin on November 21st. Details of those presentations will be distributed later.
