Liberals are predictable if nothing else. The new “horror” committed by Sarah Palin is that she wrote notes on her palm during her speech at the Tea Party Conference in Nashville this past Saturday. Apparently, to those on the left, this ranks right up there with other atrocities like owning a gun, believing in the constitution, reading a Bible or choosing life over abortion. What a monster Palin must be.
I think Texas Governor Rick Perry nailed it on the head on Sunday when he introduced Palin at a campaign rally for his re-election held here in our home town of Cypress, Texas. Perry said, “You can tell a lot about the effectiveness of a leader by the people they inspire. And you can tell a lot by the people they drive absolutely crazy. I doubt there is another public figure in our country who gives liberals a bigger case of the hives than our special guest today. At the very mention of her name, the liberals, the progressives, the media elites, they literally foam at the mouth.”
Well they’re at it again; foaming at the mouth over Sarah Palin.
Why? Because when she spoke on Saturday night, she wrote “crib notes” on her palm. In black ink. A Sharpie is suspected!! “The Horror”.
Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC is all over Palin, even mocking her by reading her own “crib notes” to relay the story. How clever Andrea. You rock! How ever did you come up with that one? Maybe Andrea went to the brain trust over at SNL and asked them to help come up with something really cool. Want to hear something really funny Andrea? You’re on MSNBC and you still call yourself a journalist.
Ms. Mitchell claimed that using the “crib notes” made Palin, who mocked Obama for his constant use of teleprompters, a hypocrite. Mitchell said it was unfair because Palin had called President Obama a "charismatic guy with a teleprompter."
Now let’s really break this down.
Palin reportedly wrote the following in her palm:
"Energy”
“Budget cuts ( but "budget" was crossed out)”
“Tax”
“Lift American Spirits."
This is all according to those who have nothing better to do than to blow-up photos of Palin from the Saturday event so that they could actually read the notes scribbled in her palm. Well, now this revelation is shocking.
Right? I mean who among us has ever written a note as a reminder? Certainly not you or me?
I find that as I get busier and busier, if I don’t write it down within seconds, I’ll never remember it.
Picture this: Sarah Palin doesn’t have a staff of dozens keeping her on track. She’s going from town-to-town-to-city-to-city speaking. As an example this past week alone Sarah was in Salina Kansas, Nashville, Tennessee and yesterday and this morning she was in Houston. By now she’s in California. She’s busy. Really busy.
How dare she write something down. How dare she use notes. Why Sarah Palin must be dumb! That's always at the core of the liberal attacks, isn't it? They said the same thing about Reagan. Of course he was a double-whammy. Dumb and Old! Those crazy tolerant liberals.
How dare Andrea Mitchell pretend she doesn’t know the difference between notes and a teleprompter. Ms. Mitchell, prior to ending up on MSNBC, used to work in “television”. Therefore, she has used a teleprompter.
Some reporters, despite being the smartest people ever to live on planet earth, even use pre-recorded notes, their entire story, with a wireless playback from an earpiece. They hit the "play" button just prior to “going on” and simply repeat what they hear playing back in their ears. But that’s okay, because as you know reporters, journalists, and those in the mainstream media are beyond reproach. The rest of us are just too, too stupid to understand their intellectual ways.
I’ve used a teleprompter. I’ve used notes. And, as Andrea Mitchell knows, there is a HUGE difference.
First, the notes like Sarah Palin scribbled in her palm merely work as reminders. Nothing is spelled out. Nothing is detailed. From the single word “tax” Sarah Palin had to then go off of the top of her head with the substance. No teleprompter. No net.
However, when using a teleprompter, every single word is spelled out, literally. The reader need not think, Andrea Mitchell knows this all too well from her days as an anchor person (no thinking required).
So, are those little scribbles on Palin’s palm really that horrible?
Is “Palmgate” the best the libs can come up with this week? For professional, life long mudslingers you’re really starting to slip.
Maybe a better question to ask for those who cover Washington, like Andrea Mitchell, should be one found closer to say….Washington.
Rather than go looking all the way to Nashville to see what a private citizen, Sarah Palin, is up to, why not ask this question: "Why has Barack Obama abandoned Press Conferences?"
It seems that “His Exalted Teleprompterness” quickly abandoned Press Conferences when he realized he would have to answer questions himself. No script. No help. No press conferences since July. That means Obama gave up on meeting the White House press corp head on basically halfway through his first year in office.
Reporters (who previously were too star struck over Obama to speak his name above a whisper) have also begun to complain loudly that Obama is insulated from White House reporters during staff meetings and cabinet meetings when traditionally those dumb old presidents like George W. Bush would actually have the courage to take a few off-the-cuff questions.
In lieu of a portable teleprompter, maybe Obama should consider little notes in the palm of his hand, but then those simple notes would require some real knowledge to interpret them.
OOPS!
