The latest United Nations concern is the fear of a global food shortage. However, the U.N. and the United States are to blame for the crisis. It is interesting that food shortages in the world first became apparent over the last decade coinciding with the US-led effort to change the world's industry from growth to stagnation in an attempt to convert it to a green-based economy.
Fortunately, most highly industrial countries such as China, Russia, and India remain more concerned with production and jobs than environmental concerns.
The U.S. is the world's leader of food production in the world, but in recent years has rapidly declined in output due to restrictions placed on farmers and ranchers on the way they conduct day-to-day obligations in raising their products. The farm situation in California's San Joaquin Valley is a prime example of environmentalists bankrupting the farm and ranch industry by cutting off water supplies and placing restrictions on how they are to conduct daily chores. These farmers and ranchers of this area of California have had their water severely restricted because of concerns from environmental groups over the survival of a presumed endangered fish species not worth mentioning over the last few years. They also are restricted from the way they operate their businesses by having to reduce dust levels caused by farm machinery usage both in planting and harvesting.
Dairy farmers and ranchers in the area have bans on odor produced by cattle and other farm animals.
What this boils down to is an attempt by environmental groups and the state government of California to shut down all farming and ranching in this area of the state. As it is now most farms and ranches in this area and many other areas of the U.S. are operating either on a severely reduced scale or not in operation at all. All this because environmentalists and concerns of Global Warming have taken control over a major American industry.
Here again, as with all concerns from environmentalists and Global Warming alarmists, we have restrictions placed on segments of industry but have no answers to replace the products this industry produces.
Because of baseless environmental concerns, this country is poised to become a third world nation. If such restrictions continue to dominate the U.S., policy toward industry we will become the only country in the world considered a poor nation with a nuclear arsenal.
This is America, people, and if we are interested in keeping it the country which leads rather than follows, we must get our priorities in order and this means taking care of people rather than filling the pockets of the few such as Al A. Gore who only have their own monetary interests in mind when presenting their theories of environmental disaster.
We the People of the United States must not allow ourselves to be taken in by unproven theories from individuals who only have their own self-interests in mind when presenting their pictures of environmental disasters based on green religion rather than common sense.
