DEMS SHOULD PASS HEALTH CARE REFORM NOW!

In just a weeks time the 111th Congress will reconvene and Democrats in the House and Senate should stand up and pass health care reform. They should make it their first order of business. They should do it immediately. Once passed Obama should sign it into law immediately.

Why not?

The timing is perfect. Obama wants it, nay demands it before the end of the year. The far-left wing of the party (you know the one’s running the show now) want it and have wanted it for decades and they’re in control.

They control the Senate to a point that Republicans are powerless to do anything to stop it.

They control the House to a point that Republicans are powerless to do anything to stop it.

That is a mathematical fact. Again: Republicans cannot stop passage of health care reform. They do not have the votes. So, dear Dems I say, “Pass It Now. Pass it here.”

You’ve spent the past few months, and all of your “break”, blaming Republicans for the lack of health care reform. They can’t stop you. So pass it.

You’ve spent the past few months shouting down your own constituents and calling them “Mobs". So who cares about them? Pass it.

You say there is no genuine opposition to health care reform. All of you; Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Frank, Rangle, Doggett, all of you say that there is no grassroots movement to stop health care reform. Okay, let’s assume you’re right. Why are you just standing there bleeding? Do something.  Pass the bill!

Your political opponents can’t stop you. There won’t be a backlash from voters because you’re on the record daily proclaiming that there is no genuine opposition from the people, so surely you can’t be worried about losing your phony baloney job. Can you? You’re smarter than we are anyway, because as you’ve pointed out the only people who do oppose health care reform are “misinformed” using “misinformation” or “distorted information” or have been organized by a vast right-wing conspiracy because we plain old people can't possibly think for our little selves.  Insert a pat on the head here from Obama to all of us unwashed masses. Then pass El Jefe the sanitary wipes.

Speaking of “unwashed masses” the people’s BFF California Senator Barbara ("Call me Senator") Boxer blew the lid off of the truth when she pointed out that this so-called public opposition can’t be real because so many of the people protesting dress well. We all know that us dumb John Q. Public’s don’t know how to dress purty.  It's a fact that conservatives spend their days shopping for clothes at Walmart and their nights cutting all the sleeves off their shirts ala "Larry The Cable Guy."  Get-r-done!

Why do you fear us?  Pass health care reform!. Do it now!  What do you have to lose? Stand for your convictions.  That's not the same as standing up for sentencing, most of you Dems will need to look up that word; “convictions” it doesn’t just apply to tax evasion charges…it has another definition.

If the Democratic Party truly believes that health care reform, this currently proposed health care reform, is what is best for this nation and for the people, then they have an obligation as our duly elected representatives to pass this bill.  Pass it now.

If the public really doesn’t oppose this, regardless of what our lying eyes, and ears show us is happening nationwide, and contrary to what all the polls say, then the Dems should pass it. Pass it now.

You can even name it after Ted Kennedy and tug away at our heart strings. You guys love that stuff. So symbolic! Pass it now!

They won’t.

Not one elected official in the Democratic Party has the courage.  Not one. Nada.  Zip. Zero.

Why?  They don’t believe their own propaganda, but labor under the assumption that you’re gullible enough to believe anything.  Way down deep inside their frightened fragile liberal bones they know that the public opposition is real and all the reassurances to the contrary by ABC, NBC and The New York Times can not spell them from the nightmare of facing a vocal and informed electorate.  They now know they’ve crossed the line.  They know (and have always known) that the overwhelming majority of Americans are ideologically center to right and are actually people who do love this country and every ideal for which it stands.

And down deep inside, beneath all the lies and rationalizations, the Dems have fed themselves are falling apart before their very eyes at Town Hall meetings from coast-to-coast-to-coast and on YouTube every day.  And that friends, means that there is not one Dem in the House or Senate willing to risk losing re-election.

Let’s get real.  If faced with the choice of pouring a bucket of water on your burning head or getting re-elected the overwhelming majority of Senators and Congressmen in D.C. (from either party) will call you "crispy" and walk away.

There are few, if any real Public Servants in Washington, or in your state’s capital willing to lay across the tracks of public opinion and sacrifice re-election to do what is right.

The 111th Congress is no different.  Obama is no different.  Faced with your opposition these “leaders” will run for the nearest crack like a cockroach exposed to the light.

If you remember nothing else, remember that come election day in November of 2010.

I'm no expert on autism...
...but the Autism Society of America appears to support healthcare reform. Would they do that if it were really a threat to autism sufferers?

Congressional democrats DO lack COURAGE!
They LACK the COURAGE to face UP to their constiuents who KNOW precisely what these facist PIGS are TRYING TO PULL!

First they Voted to DENY children with AUTISM Coverage under SCHIP ......

This was VERIFIED AS FACT by Senator Kennedy's office and again by Senator TOM UDALL'S office

And NOW .........HR 2413 & S 819 Call for a MANDETORY REGISTRY AND MONITORING of all PEOPLE with AUTISM (that means ASPERGERS TOO)!

That was VERIFIED as fact by Senator Tom Udalls OFFICE!

Now WHY ON EARTH would any sane person want to GIVE AWAY THEIR RIGHTS, and be TREATED as a COMMON CRIMINAL?

S 819 and HR 2413 the Austim accelerated treatment act turns all AUTISTICS into the FUNCTIONAL equivalent of the JEWS of NAZI Germany ......

And if History serves correctly ... the NUREMBURG LAWS didn't work out too well for the JEWS in the THIRD REICH. DID IT?

Now add to that HR 3200 which will call for anyone who is uninsured to pay a $2,500 YEARLY FINE! (meaning all the children with AUTISM in the COUNTRY who will be DENIED COVERAGE DUE TO SCHIP)

In short the AUTHOR is nothing but a OBAMA Propegandist!

Congressional Democrats often lack courage.
As a Democrat, I seethed many times when they failed to provide adequate opposition to the Bush administration's authorizing of torture and of spying without warrants on American citizens.

I feel that there are many Democrats and Republicans in Congress who put the needs and interests of their contributors above the needs and interests of their constituents.

That, I think, is why health care reform has not yet passed.

It's not a perceived lack of public support (support for a public option is around 56-62% (http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/08/how-to-poll-on-public-option.html)), though those who do oppose it (32-35% in the same polls) have been more vocal about their opposition than supporters have been about their support.

I think it's that a public option, much more than any other thing proposed in health care reform, will directly cut the profits of health insurance companies - which profits are a major part of the unnecessary costs in the system. Therefore, health insurance companies, perfectly rationally, are pouring money and lobbyists into Washington with the sole aim of defeating the public option, and they have made significant contributions to the re-election campaigns of Democrats on key committees, like Kent Conrad and Max Baucus.

It is the task of Democrats like myself to ensure that a strong public option does pass, in the teeth of insurance industry opposition. We know that the numbers in the country are currently on our side, but it's the numbers in Congress that will matter more.

Hal? What Institution Do You Live In?
Hal - First, what was written was an editorial/opinion. By the very nature of the fact that it was opinion - none of it can be characterized as a lie. Opinion is opinion, and therefore by its very nature not necessarily fact nor fiction, but rather personal belief. Look it up in a dictionary. Second, that's the only thing you gleaned from the entire article. Are you a professional nitpicker, or do you just not have a life to otherwise occupy yourself?

You are lying.

Wow, I thought at first you were serious
I failed to see your tongue firmly planted in your cheek. Seriously though, you are right. Those clowns in Washington are more concerned with keeping their jobs than they are in reading, let alone passing any legislation that would keep them from that end.

The best hea.lth care plan would be each individual or their family, church and community taking the initiative, not the government or employers.

Employers just take from monies they could be paying the employee anyway, in order to pay for insurance. If employees were allowed to have medical savins accounts and buy catastrophic insurance, we wouldn't have the escalating costs we see now. Paperwork is what is taking up a great portion of medical costs.
