In a recent op/ed: “MEDIA BIAS, THE NEW SCARY SPIN AND THE 9.12 NUMBERS”, I wrote the following:
“Get ready folks.
The attacks are just beginning. The initial response to the anger you expressed in the Town Hall meetings throughout August was to attack you. The ongoing response has been to attack your right to speak out.
'We will call you out,' Obama said in his recent Washington D.C. rally called a Joint Session of Congress. Apparently, “Call you out” means call you – the people - everything they can think of to discredit you.
That’s the game plan. Look for it in the coming days and weeks. All you nay-sayers who think CNN is only reporting the "facts" need to watch for what I've just outlined. Every pundit, every talking head, every report about the Tea Party, or any other movement held in opposition to liberal belief will be labeled exactly as I've warned.
It's no longer "of the people, by the people and for the people 'now it's "shout down the people, accuse the people, call out the people'."
We published that article on September 13, 2009. Now here it is September 16, 2009. Not that much time has passed, right? Surely, not enough time for my prediction of how the liberals would attack to be proven either right or wrong, right? Wrong.
On September 15, 2009 (That’s yesterday) none other than former President Jimmy Carter called you all – ready – “Racists”.
Carter said, in an interview with NBC’s Brian Williams, "I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African American," Carter said. "I live in the South, and I've seen the South come a long way, and I've seen the rest of the country that shared the South's attitude toward minority groups at that time, particularly African Americans."
There it is. That’s the official liberal/Democratic response. They’ve toyed with it and used it here and there since you started to speak out, but now after somewhere between 1.5 million and two million of you showed up in Washington D.C. this past Saturday they are going to beat you over the head with this.
Representative Joe Wilson is now a “racist”. Doesn’t matter what he actually believes or what he’s done in his life. He’s a racist. Why? He disagreed with Barack Obama and shouted out “You Lie” during the President "Always Ready for Primetime" Obama's address to Congress.
Never mind that the Democrats have a long history of openly booing Republican President’s like Cub’s fans boo the Cardinals, that was then, this is now and you’re a “Racist, Mr. Wilson”.
Never mind that Wilson apologized to the President, who accepted the apology. Never mind that Prime Minister Nancy Pelosi said she would not seek sanctions against Wilson. It doesn’t matter. Hey, Wilson you’re a “racist”. Of course now Pelosi and the Congress are going to seek sanctions against Wilson.
If only this were the first case of hypocrisy in politics.
Remember when conservatives were concerned about Obama speaking to our school children, and Democrats and liberals said conservatives were all nuts. No one should ever protest a President speaking to children. Remember that? The Democrats forgot to tell you that in the 1990’s when George H.W. Bush spoke to school children they, the Democrats controlling the House, actually started a Congressional investigation into Bush’s speech.
That's just a side note I felt was important in terms of pointing out the ridiculous hypocrisy that exits in ALL of U.S. politics today.
Back to “racism”, so we’re all sure what that term means. Here’s the “old” definition of racism:
1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one’s own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
Here’s the new definition of racism:
1. To disagree with Barack Obama on anything
2. See number 1.
In light of this new definition of “racism”, let’s take a look at all the people who have opposed Obama in the past. Now we can see them as the true “racists” they really are.
• Hilary Clinton. She was among the first to try and stop Obama. She wanted the nomination for herself and opposed him. She’s obviously a racist.
• Former President Bill Clinton. Just an old southern racist now.
• Senator Joe Biden, that surly old “racist” ran against Obama, too.
• Senator Christopher Dodd. “RACIST”! He felt he would make a better president than Obama, too, and he ran against Obama.
• All the Democrats who ran against Obama for the nomination must really be racists –
o John Edwards
o Dennis Kucinich
o Bill Richardson – Hispanic Racist!
Shocking information!
I assume that today we can add the name Muhtar Kent to that list. Mr. Kent is the CEO of Coca-Cola. Today when asked about the proposed tax on soft drinks Kent said, “I have never seen it work where a government tells people what to eat and what to drink. If it worked, the Soviet Union would still be around.”
Thanks to the tireless name calling and constant need to label others provided us by the tolerance police of the left, we now know the truth about all the aforementioned racists.
Thank you, Jimmy Carter. Once again you have served your country greatly. Choosing to speak out on this topic as you have is your second greatest service to our nation. Your first greatest was getting your backside kicked out of office by Ronald Reagan.
Seriously, the second-worst President in the history of the United States chooses this moment to come out off the peanut farm and call around two million Americans “racists”. Does that make sense in any context outside of pure political spin?
What of those among you who want to see Nancy Pelosi go? What of those among you who want to see Harry Reid get the boot? Are those who disagree with Pelosi “Sexists”? Is she distrusted and disliked because she is a woman? Or did she gain the distrust of the American people the old fashioned way, by earning it?
What about Reid? Is that a white guy thing? Or do we distrust him because all conservatives, and an apparently ever-growing number of independents, secretly hate Nevada?
The approval rating of the U.S. Congress is now at 28%. Fully 69% of the American people think Congress is doing a terrible job. From what kind of hate does that stem? How can you spin that PM Nancy? The only thing I can think of is that the American people are racist, or at least terribly opposed to, criminals, liars and morons.
When did speaking out against your government, and disagreeing with your government, and holding “your” elected representatives accountable become un-American? Speaking out, organizing, marching, and protesting has always been considered as American as Apple Pie, Baseball, Coca-Cola (oops) and the pre-government-owned Chevrolet.
Yet Nancy Pelosi and Henny Stoyer got together (I guess it takes two liberals to write an op/ed) and wrote an op/ed where they said, "'Un-American' attacks can't derail health care debate," – that’s House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer.
What Mr. Carter, and all the other liberals, label as anger and/or hate is actually passion. Passion drives protest movements. Passion ignites change. One political insider, who really understands the system, and how protests can be effective said, “I want you to argue with them, get in their faces...you guys are the ones who can make the change.”
That’s how you do it. You “get in their faces”. What’s wrong with that?
Even Barack Obama himself has spoken of the need to hold elected officials accountable. In 1995 he said, “We must form grass-root structures that would hold me and other elected officials more accountable for their actions."
I don’t see in that quote anywhere “white elected officials” or “except for black elected officials”. He does say “me.”
I get it.
As I pointed out in my other article, the liberals and the Dems can no longer say you aren’t real. Two million of you showed up in Washington D.C.
The Dems can’t claim you were bused in by outside forces. They had to change their attacks against you. All summer long they said you weren’t real. Now they’ve done the math. You Mr. Obama, Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Reid, etc., all know that only a small percentage of those involved in the movement showed up. That’s true of any movement. No one gets 100% turnout, nor 50% turnout. 10% would be great.
You haven’t heard that you’re not real in the past couple of days, have you? “Astro turf” seems to have dropped from their vernacular.
Now, you’re real.
You’re “real scary” in fact. You scare the hell out of the Democrats. If they’re paying attention to what’s really happening, the Republicans are going to be pretty scared, too. This is not a DNC or an RNC thing. I’ve said it before, this is a Freedom Thing.
Here’s one thing you have to do. You have to remember that in the press (when they bother to cover your events at all), and in dealing with the liberals, you will always be judged by the most "out there", lunatic fringe goofball that shows up. We all know they will always show up.
There will always be the idiot (genuine or planted) with the “Hitler” sign. I think we should all agree with Dennis Miller who said basically unless someone is shoving millions of people into ovens, let’s drop the Hitler reference.
I didn’t like it when the liberals did it to Bush, which dear Liberals, you all know you did. Conservatives and independents who are truly concerned with changing policy and thought in Washington shouldn’t support those comparisons now. Let’s be grown ups, okay.
Know this, however, no matter what you do or how you conduct yourselves, the DNC, The White House, George Sorros and the Liberal movement are coming after you. They are now far less concerned with GOP candidates than they are with you.
They will attack you. They will destroy you if possible. They will shame you if they can. Be ever aware. Be ever vigilant.
And remember that Free Speech is precious, as is your right to assemble.
No less than a President of the United States of America once spoke out in defense of these rights saying, “The universal rights to assembly and free speech must be respected, and the United States stands with all who seek to exercise those rights. As I said in Cairo, suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away.” – Barack Obama
Oh yeah, and that whole “get in their faces” advice I quoted earlier…that was from Barack Obama, too.
