A FREE TEXAS; AUGUST 29TH TO BE HISTORIC DATE

by Ken Lowder - Baytown, Texas

The 29th of August promises to be the turning point in Texas and in the United States. A crowd of Texans plan to descend on the state capitol and demand that Governor Perry and our elected officials either enforce the 10th amendment on the federal government or secede from the union. The big question is if the governor will show up or if the pressing other business he has that day is more important. As of this writing he will not be there to receive the petition being put forth by Gerry Donaldson of drawaline.org.

This is going to be one of, if not the most important events in recent Texas history. Gerry has collected a few thousand signatures for this petition for sovereignty or secession. The Texas Nationalist Movement has a reported million signatures on their petition that is just for
secession.

Our leaders have not paid attention to recent events. The public has been peacefully holding tea parties that have really just been ignored by the rulers of this land. They recently have been getting an angry earful at town hall meetings. The lapdog media has been calling them mobs of GOP operatives and so has the left elitist leaders. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

This movement has cut clear across party lines. Citizens of this country are fed up with our elected officials spending us into bankruptcy and disrupting our lives. This has led us to the events planned on the 29th.
It is plain that the federal government will not change unless change is forced upon it. Governor Perry needs to get his priorities straight. Texans have had enough being ignored and that is never a good thing.

Will he and the legislature push for and enforce Texas sovereignty or will we the People of Texas push secession on them? Will we change the direction this country is heading or will the words "This meeting can do nothing further to save the country." be heard
again?

Texas Bankruptcy
A little know fact is that when Texas first tried to join the Union, it was denied admission. The reason: Texas' national debt was too high for the Federal government to take on. Texas spent the next several years paying down its debt before it was eventually allowed to join the United States of America.

Texas Leaving Union
If Texas leaves the union, I'm leaving the state of New Mexico, and bringing my family with me. We've had more than enough of Obama and his socialst agenda.

Dear American Patriot
Mexico and what army would have crushed Texas? The same Mexican army that Texans defeated in 1836 at San Jacinto?? That Mexican Army?? It's not a GOP thing either so go blame the Republicans for something else. Hey, I know maybe you can blame the GOP for you crappy attitude, or let's see what else can we blame them for...AIDS, Cancer, every wrong ever committed in the history of life on this planet. It's not a GOP thing. It's a Texas thing and frankly, if you don't live here it's none of your business. The REPUBLIC OF TEXAS retained the right of secession when agreeing to enter the union. If the people of Texas want to exercise that option why do you care? Why is it any skin off of your...teeth? I don't know where you live, but I also don't care what you or your state does or doesn't do.

Time Change
The correct time for the rally is from 11:30 to 1:30. Moveon is having a rally after us for support to obumacare. This should get real interesting. We are planning a warm welcome to all the union (SEIU) and acorn folks he busses in from out of state.

Really?
I've always thought it somewhat ironic Texas thinks itself so naturally superior given that their joining the US was because a bunch of Americans left the nation to increase their profit margin. These people who abandoned nation for profit then decided they could be their own republic, rather than the settlers on Mexican land they were, and subsequently discovering that Mexico would crush them unless they begged the same nation they abandoned for assistance.
All of that aside, you can’t build a stronger nation by running away. If you’re unhappy then try to affect change, don’t say “Give me what I want or I’m going to pout in the corner.” If Texas really wanted to shine and make a positive change for the world, their nation, or just their state then they need to take the hard road to affect change through reason and moral action, not through crying and throwing a tantrum.
P.S. The large increase in governmental power was a republican initiative following the civil war, so maybe this time GOP hard liners somewhere will be careful what they wish for.

And, from Louisiana
Can we seceed with you???

Between Texas and Louisiana, we control over 50% of Americas native Oil and 60 % of its Natural Gas. Combined, we will have all the rights to the Gulf of Mexico out to the 200 mile limit, as well as Fishery exclusion zone.

We will have 90% of Americas refining capacity and 70% of its Chemical and plastics production,95% of its Cotton and Sugar production, 65% of Americas pipeline systems and six out of ten of its largest Ports, including Oil and LNG offloading and storage sites.

We have automobile manufacturing, machining, heavy machinery production, farming, ranching, fisheries and the largest Wind Generating Electrical systems in America on the drawing boards both on land and Offshore.

Together, we are the worlds leader in Offshore Oil and Mineral extration techniques populated by people with a 12 hour a day,7 day a week, Right to Work, can do - work ethic.

This is not the South of 1861. Our people would thrive without having to support the deadbeats the Federal Dot. Gov demands we do with our Tax Dollars.

Hey former Texan...
"Mexico will not like it" - Really! We're supposed to determine how to govern our people based on what Mexico likes or doesn't like? Should we poll Canada to see what they think? How about Uganda? Does their opinion come into play? Ultimately, the people need to determine their own path - regardless of who might "not like it". I guarantee you that if Texas were a Republic again it would have a better relationship with Mexico than the U.S. does. We understand, and respect Mexico. The U.S. does not. Never has. And if Mexico were really upset well....read a book. So far the score is Texas 2, Mexico 0.
