In an Opinion/Editorial article titled, “I Am Conservative America”, from today’s The Cypress Times, Publisher John G. Winder announced the start of a new conservative movement in the U.S.  Mr. Winder calls the movement, “I Am Conservative America”.  The concept is simple enough in that Mr. Winder is asking conservatives everywhere to take a picture of themselves, holding a sign which reads, “I Am Conservative America” and then email that picture to the newspaper.

“We’ve already created a new section in The Cypress Times to showcase all the photos we get from conservatives all over America,” said Mr. Winder.  “Right now, you’ll find one picture in the section, mine.”

Winder adds, “The idea here is to show the liberal left that conservatives are ready to stand up in order to protect our constitution and our freedom.”

In addition to the special section in The Cypress Times, Mr. Winder added that the newspaper will create movies from the pictures sent in and post those on YouTube. 

“That’s a few weeks away, hopefully a very few.  Once we have enough pics we’ll begin adding the movies not only to YouTube but to our paper as well.  We hope to do hundreds and hundreds of these movies,” Mr Winder said.

Mr. Winder got the idea when he saw a report recently on the Fox News Network about a website that featured pro-abortion people holding up a sign proclaiming their support for the pro-abortion movement.

“The interesting thing is that the vast majority of the people on that site, used their signs to cover their faces,” Mr. Winder said, “I think that says a lot about their true feelings.  I’m asking conservative to hold their signs at chest level and let the world see their face.”

Mr. Winder says the whole point of this movement is to allow conservatives to let the world know they are fed up, they are tired of being complacent and that the “silent majority” will be silent no longer. 

“The Internet is a powerful tool,” Winder said.  “Right now there are literally hundreds, maybe thousands of online conservative groups forming from Facebook groups to stand alone Social Networks like TeamSarah, ResistNet, The Conservative Underground, the TEA Party groups, The Patriot’s Heart Network, and many others.  This is a way for members from all of those sites, and for folks who haven’t yet joined a group or site, to come to one place and let it be known that they’re conservative, they’re proud, and they vote.”
