SHEPHERD'S PIE

This is the Americanized version.  Easy, hearty and oh-so-tasty!  Comfort food at it's best.

Ingredients:

1 lb. ground chuck

1 medium onion chopped fine

1 can baby peas, drained

1 can sliced new potatoes, drained

1 cup Bisquick

1/2 cup milk

1 packet of brown gravy mix

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350.

In a large skillet, brown hamburger meat and onion.  Drain fat.

Add peas, potatoes and salt and pepper to taste.  Transfer into a casserole dish.

In a separate bowl, combine Bisquick and milk to form a dough.  Spread on top of meat mixture.  Bake for 20-30 minutes or until dough is a nice, golden brown.

While this is cooking, make brown gravy according to package directions.  Once the casserole is done, spread a light amount of gravy on top.

Enjoy!

Yum!
Shepherd's Pie was one of the family's favorite meal when the children lived at home... no matter what version I used.
