TRADITIONAL BAKED CUSTARD

4 eggs
¼ cup sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla flavoring
2 cups milk

1. Preheat oven to 350F/180C
2. In a medium bowl, combine eggs and sugar
3. Stir until well mixed
4. Add vanilla and milk
5. Mix again until egg are full incorporated
6. Pour into single serve oven dishes
7. Half fill a large metal baking pan with water
8. Place individual dishes into the water (This gives a smooth even custard texture)
9. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until knife inserted comes out clean
10. Set dishes aside to cool
11. Sprinkle a little sugar on the top of each custard
12. Melt sugar under broiler or grill until golden brown

Sorry, I haven't tried the recipe with a non dairy product but I can't see why it won't work. It's the egg that sets the custard.

No guarantees. Give it a go and let me know how it went.

will it work w/ liquid non-dairy creamer?
Sounds delicious! Anyone ever tried making this with liquid nondairy creamer (i.e., Rich's)?
