Premieres Sunday, December 13 at 8 PM ET/PT on TV Guide Network

Susan Boyle, the global music sensation whose recent “I Dreamed A Dream” CD has achieved the highest first week sales of 2009 as well as the largest ever debut for a female recording artist in history, will star in the original television special "I DREAMED A DREAM: THE SUSAN BOYLE STORY," premiering Sunday, December 13 at 8:00 pm ET/PT exclusively on TV Guide Network.

This one-hour program will celebrate Ms. Boyle's extraordinary journey, from her devout upbringing in a rural Scottish village where she learned to sing in churches and choral societies, to instant international fame after her inspiring performance on "Britain's Got Talent," Simon Cowell's British reality TV competition series.

"I DREAMED A DREAM: THE SUSAN BOYLE STORY" will include exclusive interviews with Susan, her friends, and celebrity fans such as Simon Cowell, alongside spectacular performances with special guests and other surprises. Susan will debut songs from her new CD including "Cry Me a River" and the Rolling Stones classic "Wild Horses," as well as a very special performance of the song that launched her to global superstardom, "I Dreamed A Dream," with the London West End cast of Les Miserables.

"I DREAMED A DREAM: THE SUSAN BOYLE STORY" is a co-production between talkbackTHAMES, the UK production company owned by Fremantle Media, and Simon Cowell's Syco TV.

About Susan Boyle

On January 21, 2009 a shy yet spiritual 47-year old woman stepped onto the stage of the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow to audition for "Britain's Got Talent." In front of the three-judge panel charged with determining which of this year's British hopefuls really did have talent, Susan Boyle's performance became the watershed moment that neither she nor anyone involved could possibly have imagined. During her three and a half minutes of song, Susan Boyle elicited a moment of pure, molten zeitgeist that became both her and the show's defining moment. Her dazzling recital of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical Les Miserables astonished both the "Britain's Got Talent" judges and the studio audience. An intensely passionate media wave grew after the performance, and 300 million YouTube views later, Susan Boyle's life encapsulated a new kind of international fame.

Once again defying expectations, Susan Boyle made her highly anticipated album debut with the release of 'I Dreamed A Dream' on November 23, 2009. In just one week, her album sold more than 2 million copies worldwide, becoming the fastest selling global female debut album. Susan enthused, "It was my greatest ambition to release an album and I have finally achieved it. There is happiness out there for everyone who dares to dream."

Susan Boyle is an inspiration!
I think Susan Boyle's voice is amazingly beautiful. I think her story is even more incredible. The way she came out the other side from all of her trials in life is totally uplifting. While I wait for the movie of her life to be made, I discovered that the TV Guide Channel is having an exclusive special on her December 13.

I found a sneak peek of it here:
