Largest Abortion Center in The Western Hemisphere Opening on January 18, 2009
A 78,000 square foot abortion center is set to open for business on January 18 in Houston, Texas. The Planned Parenthood center will be the largest abortion facility in the United States, and the second largest in the world. The center will serve as a regional headquarters for Planned Parenthood and an abortion clinic for second trimester abortions. Texas Right to Life is urging its members to join in a “Silent Siege” of prayer and protest.
An email alert to Texas Right to Life members read in part, “Thousands are joining local pro-life organizations in Houston, Texas to protest the largest abortion clinic in the United States."
"The six-story, 78,000 square foot building will include a surgical floor equipped to provide late-term abortions," the group says. "Planned Parenthood continues to target low-income, minority families and has strategically located the new clinic in the middle of Hispanic and African-American neighborhoods and directly across the street from the University of Houston."
Lou Engle, founder of The Call to Conscience is the organizer of “Silent Siege”.
“Since the facility will be situated near predominantly black and Hispanic neighborhoods, it is clear that Planned Parenthood is targeting minority groups, “said Engle.“That is why we are gathering minority leaders in Houston and around the country who are grieved, and are committed to raising awareness and ultimately halting Planned Parenthood’s brazen assault on innocent life.”
The following are committed to participate in the “Silent Siege”
Lou Engle, Founder, The Call to Conscience
Tony Perkins, President, Family Research Council
Samuel Rodriguez, President, National Hispanic Christian Leadership
Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood director
Stephen Broden, Senior Pastor, Fair Park Bible Fellowship
Matthew Staver, Dean, Liberty University School of Law
Dr. Richard Land, President, Southern Baptist Convention
Ken Blackwell, Senior Fellow, Family Research Council
The “Silent Siege” will take place in the form of a silent march on the massive abortion clinic on Monday, January 18, 2009. The new abortion super-center is located at 4600 Gulf Freeway.
