June was National LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered) Pride Month. To honor this occasion President Barack Obama held a reception in the East Room of the White House. It was an opportunity Obama took advantage of to mend strained relations between himself and the homosexual community that he had courted during his campaign. Obama had promised to overturn DOMA (the Defense of Marriage Act), to change the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy used by the military in regards to homosexuals serving in the military, and to pass a comprehensive hate crimes law that would place homosexuals into a federally protected class that subjects offenders to excessive fines and prison.

Homosexual activists had become critical not only of Obama’s lack of speed in fulfilling these promises, but his apparent attempt to placate some Christians’ concerns toward supporting him by watering down the language used on the White House webpage outlining his commitments to their agenda. They were angry and wanted answers. Obama obliged. His considerable oratory skills were in full swing as he acknowledged several prominent guests at the White House reception and unequivocally reiterated his commitment to overturn laws and to change attitudes that hinder the normalization of the homosexual lifestyle.

To the delight of his audience Obama addressed them by saying, “Welcome to your White House.” The acceptance of homosexuality and other perverted sexual behavior has come a long way. From being illegal and an abomination this behavior that once was rarely even whispered into the ear of another had shed the mantle of shame and disgrace and gained the attire of respectability needed to call the White House home. But it is an illusion. Homosexuality has not changed clothes. Rather, the eyes of some have become blurred to the truth as they look through the lens of a corrupt media manipulated by the rich and famous. Homosexuality is still wrapped in rags.

Obama lamented that even though extraordinary progress had been made in mainstreaming homosexuality there are those “who still hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes.” Of course the arguments against the legitimization of homosexuality are worn. That is because those arguments are based upon Truth and Truth does not change. Therefore, the world is at war with Truth seeking to destroy it and replace it with lies that appeal to the fallen, sinful nature of man.

Obama goes on to say, “We seek an America in which no one feels the pain of discrimination based on who you are or who you love.” Think about that for a moment. Carried to its logical conclusion such an America would include polygamy, incest, pedophilia, and even bestiality (providing the animal rights activists do not believe such a relationship would be abusive to the animal) because each of these relationships is based upon what the world calls love. I realize that this is a worn argument formed from old attitudes, but the validity of the argument has never been successfully overcome.

Not surprisingly Obama said, “I’ve called on Congress to repeal the so-called Defense of Marriage Act to help end discrimination – help end discrimination against same-sex couples in this country.”Again, the opening of this Pandora’s Box will not end with same-sex couples. Only the foolish or willfully blind could believe that.

Man’s lust is insatiable and what once sated him today (homosexuality) will inevitably lead to greater depths of depravity. It is just a matter of when, not if, such sexual perversions will become socially acceptable. But the “when” will come much sooner rather than later thanks to Obama’s blessing.

But none of this is surprising. Obama made no secret of his beliefs concerning same-sex “marriage” or his radical pro-abortion position while campaigning for President. His character was on full display for all to see. All this reception at the White House did was to reveal the same character. People, especially Christians who voted for Obama, who berate and criticize him for embracing policies that threaten the very existence of marriage or pursue a pro-abortion agenda are being hypocritical.

Obama could not have become President without the votes of “Christians”. But how could Christians vote for a man who is so transparently opposed to the teachings of the Bible? There are at least two answers. One is economics. Christians voted with their pocketbooks in mind believing Obama would be the better choice to maintain or increase their standard of living. Those guilty of this sin (yes, it is sin) have placed themselves in the shoes of Peter when he denied Jesus. Repentance is needed.

The second answer is many who call themselves “Christian” are not. One of the guests acknowledged by Obama at the beginning of the reception, Bishop Gene Robinson, is such an example.

Robinson was elevated to the office of Bishop in The Episcopal Church in 2003. That is unremarkable in itself. What makes it remarkable is Robinson is a homosexual who openly lives with his male partner. In the years since then and even before The Episcopal Church has shown itself to be a false denomination. It has a history over the last 30 years or so of allowing or embracing heretical teachings (Bishop John Shelby Spong being the most prominent example).

Since The Episcopal Church made Robinson a bishop it has experienced one schism after another. Some have heard the call, ”Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues; for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities” (Revelation 18:4-5 NASU). Others continue in spiritual blindness, perhaps lulled to sleep by the sweet sound of lies.

Yes, Obama’s reception at the White House revealed once again his character. But more troubling than the character of one man, it revealed a Christianity in America whose character resembles the god she really worships – Satan.

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness’” (Matthew 7:21-23 ESV).
