Holy God,
You look down on the earth to observe all our comings and goings, and you know we are in deep trouble. We've been assigned tasks we aren't physically, mentally or emotionally capable of accomplishing. We're terrified of failing, yet the job looms as an unassailable wall before us. Our assignment is impossible.
We thank you because you are our Father in heaven, our loving and compassionate Daddy to whom we can turn for comfort whenever we're distressed. Thank you that any time we choose we can close our eyes, mentally crawl up onto your lap, bury our heads on your chest and beg for help and comfort.
But this time feels different, Lord. We believe you want us to stand, square our shoulders, plant our feet and reach for you, pulling in fistfuls of your power, growing stronger and more courageous with every breath. You want us to determine to fight for right. And we believe you will help us approach the job in that way, Lord. Battling the enemy as you fight by our side, your power and courage permeating every cell, muscle and thought.
Give us favor with those who dislike us. Grant us the joy and satisfaction that comes from triumphantly overcoming. Help us remember it's not our might or our power, but your Spirit that will win this war. We claim every place our foot steps. The victory belongs to you, Lord, and we shout your praises. In Jesus' name, amen.
