MIDWEEK PRAYER

O Gracious God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Wisdom and might belong to you. You see deep and hidden things and you reveal them to the wise. Make us wise, Lord. Give us your wisdom. Fill our hearts with your light and your Spirit. Reveal to each of us the flaws in our own thinking so that we can be more like you. We long to please you.

We want your peace, but many of us are troubled right now and feel as though peace is unavailable to us - impossible for us. But it isn't. You can and will give us your peace that passes understanding. We believe that! You can and will keep us from dark fearful thoughts as we rejoice in your power and love. You can remove our bitter thoughts and help us come to see that instead of protecting us, resentment harms us and others. Only you, Lord, can protect us. Show us how to reap the rewards of your Spirit by continually seeking you throughout the day. Teach us to walk in your Spirit. We pray together in Jesus' name, amen.
