GOD IS THE ONLY HOPE FOR OUR NATION

For so long we've recognized the symptoms of decay in our country as the same problems that afflicted all the nations down through history who turned from you. We've known the cause of our failing economy is the direct result of disobedience. We've cried out for you to bring our nation back to righteousness, but things only seem to get worse.We have begun to feel like Elijah when he said he was the only one left who had had not bowed the knee to Baal. Some of us have felt hopeless and begun to pray less for the country.

Forgive us, Lord.

Just as you assured Elijah he was not alone, last weekend you showed us we are not alone when hundreds of thousands of God-seekers flocked to the Lincoln Memorial for the purpose of Restoring Honor to our nation. When those speakers and presenters raised their voices proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord of our nation, we wept tears of gratitude and joy. And we know that the thousands of our countrymen who attended that event represent millions more of us who were unable to go. Millions of American who still believe in you and depend on you. Who understand that you are the only hope for our nation. Thank you for allowing us to see that, Father. Thank you for calling our nation back to you and making so many of your followers willing to openly stand in the name of your Son.

Thank you for the many ways in which that peaceful gathering demonstrated the character of your followers. The character of the people who still form the backbone of this great nation ? people who still love you and welcome you. And we do welcome you Father. We need you. We believe this is our last chance at renewal. The last chance for our nation to turn back to you.

Please uphold the 240 pastors from diverse denominations who linked arms on stage. Give courage to the entire Black-Robed Brigade of pastors who have pledged to stand unashamedly for you despite the personal cost. Be their leader as they lead their congregations. Be their shield, Lord.

Be our shield. Help us to seek you with all our hearts and souls. Help us to truly know who you are. Teach us your Truth. Help each of us to find your purpose for our own lives. Let the fire that was kindled last weekend spread to the entire nation and burn ever brighter. We welcome your return, and together, in the name of your Son Jesus, we bless you for your mercy and steadfast love. Amen.
