MY TRIP BACK TO KURDISTAN

I am now planning a return trip to Kurdistan the latter part of September. Although the date has not been set yet, it WILL be after the 15th. but not later than the 26th. Don English and I will be returning to teach in our school there - Kurdish American School. While there, we teach our students in American English, Government and Principles of Freedom and Democracy. Our trip there will be for about 4 weeks and we will then return home to Dallas in time for me to help Stephen Broden in his efforts to un-seat Eddie Bernice Johnson in the U. S. Congress on 2 November 2010.

I will be continuing to develop relationships with some key leaders of Kurdistan, meeting with some students- former and New ones- conducting some Classes in American English and Government, and conducting some "official" meetings with some key individuals in the Educational system there in Northern Iraq.

I am asking you to pray for Don and me for our complete success in the school and for our safety to and from Kurdistan. If you feel that you want to contribute to this effort, please do! We need your help in these endeavors as we have to raise our own funds for the trip, the expenses of the School, and our eats and stay while there.

You may feel free to contribute through my home Church in Mesquite: Christian Center of Mesquite, Texas. Just mark your contribution: KAS - Kurdish American School. You may also make your tax-deductible donation to: KAS - Kurdish American School and send it to the above address: P. O. Box 360722 Dallas, Texas 75336

Whatever you can do will be appreciated so much! Your help will go a long, long way and you will be helping us to build relationships with some of the most beautiful people in the world - The Kurds, Assyrians and the Izzedi. Please Do your very Best!

Once again, I will be distributing freely more copies of my CD throughout Iraqi Kurdistan and to Iranian Kurds. I Need Your Help!!!

Thank-you for all you have done and all you continue to do to help us in presenting God's love and care to these beautiful people.

Sincerely,

*Important Items from Baghdad:

The top American military commander in Iraq said in July, 2010 that U.N. peacekeeping forces may need to protect disputed territories in the nation's north if tensions between Kurds and Arabs haven't eased by the time U.S. troops leave by the end of August, 2011.

In an interview with The Associated Press, U.S. Army Gen. Ray Odierno said U.N. peacekeepers might be one option if Kurdish soldiers haven't integrated into the Arab-dominated Iraqi army over the next year. He said he hopes the U.N. forces won't be necessary.

A U.N. spokeswoman in Baghdad, Radhia Achouri, directed questions about potential peacekeepers to the Iraqi government and the U.N. Security Council in New York.
At U.N. headquarters in New York, U.N. officials and diplomats said there has been no discussion about the possibility of a U.N. peacekeeping force in northern Iraq. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

Worried that the ethnic tensions could lead to war after Kurdish and Iraqi troops clashed in eastern Diyala province in 2008, Odierno this year ordered the U.S. military to set up security checkpoints in the disputed territories that are guarded by soldiers from all three forces.
The hope is that Kurds and Arabs would work together against a common enemy - al-Qaida in Iraq and insurgents who exploit the tensions - instead of fighting each other.

The experiment for the most part has been peaceful, but clashes continue to break out between Kurdish and Arab forces, including one on Monday when a fistfight led to gunfire among soldiers near a market in Qara Tappah, a Diyala town about 75 miles northeast of Baghdad. Two Iraqi soldiers, a Kurdish officer and one civilian were wounded in the clash.

Authorities called the clash a misunderstanding between soldiers, and Odierno described it as a spat between individuals - and not a widespread Kurd-Arab problem.

There's no guarantee the checkpoints will remain once U.S. forces leave in 2011. In an AP interview in June, 2010, Babaker Shawkat Zebari, a Kurd who is top commander of the Iraqi military, said the checkpoints will no longer be necessary once Iraq's parliament settles the disputed areas. But it seems to me that the Iraqi parliament is "taking its own dear time" in meeting and taking care of business.

When Parliament might meet and do that, however, is anyone's guess.

Odierno said further, he "could not predict when parliament might address the morass - or whether it might be solved before the end of 2011."

"It's a difficult issue," he said. He further hopes negotiations over selecting Iraq's new leaders "might help push it forward a little bit, but we'll see."

*In closing:

"More than thirteen years ago, 1996, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that a nuclear Iran would be the greatest danger the world would face. He warned that nuclear weapons in the hands of Iran would have dire consequences. Prime Minister Netanyahu is a man of unusual moral clarity. He should be applauded for his determination to protect Israel, not castigated by those who have no clue what survival has cost that nation." -Michael D. Evans, a New York Times bestselling author, and author of Jimmy Carter: The Liberal Left and World Chaos.

If Iran becomes "armed" with Nuclear weapons of mass destruction, many Assyrians, Kurds and Izzedi will be slaughtered, and that is something these wonderful people have endured already for many hundreds of years. It is past time to "conquer" this Bully of the Middle East and send them "packing!" The people of Iran want, and need to be free- and are yearning for the puppet machinery in Tehran to be "removed."
