"You are what you eat." What about what you breathe? The culture is the air we breathe in and the water we swim in. You cannot escape the culture, because even if you mark off your own boundaries and defend them vigilantly, your new country is still... a culture. Moreover, as history has shown, when there is warfare boundaries can be, and often are, overrun. Many Christians today have adopted the defensive strategy of the French after World War 1, establishing a line of defensive fortifications- their very own Maginot Line. Unfortunately, the results are likely to be the same for the Church as it was for France.
The 2010 Online Apologetics Conference is casting a vision for a different approach: fight the battle we're actually in and not the battle we wish we had. If the atmosphere of our culture is toxic, clean it up. Obviously, in some ways this battle is already being fought. However, the Church is coming to the field with the weapons of the American Civil War while the Enemy comes on the field with tanks, planes, and submarines. This cannot continue.
Join us in our quest to intentionally and deliberately defend the faith by producing quality contributions to the culture and thus clean up the air we breathe. We cannot make people believe as we do, but we can at least remove as many obstacles to their rejection as possible.
