OBAMA "S.W.A.T.'s" TEA PARTY
by John McTernan

Riot Police and Snipers Called Out to Defend Quincy, IL Convention Center Against Geriatric Tea Party Protesters

There continues to be a common theme developing with respect to the reality that is the Tea Party movement and the opposition to it by this Obama administration. The movement is mostly made up of conservative Christians with a predominantly older demographic. The protests that began taking place in April of 2009 have been extremely peaceful with no arrests. Protests have continued all across America with untold numbers of people participating.

The Tea Party protest outside the Quincy, IL Community Center with Barack Obama inside was no different – except for the S.W.A.T. Team that was called out to defend the Community Center from being attacked by a rabid geriatric Tea Party that sang, “God Bless America” on a nearby street corner. In addition to riot police on the ground, there were snipers positioned on the roof of the building.

John McTernan, founder of Defend and Proclaim the Faith Ministries, sees a very disturbing trend taking place not only via this administration's increasingly overt attempts to demonize patriotic and Christian citizens but encourages more attention to be paid to the leadership within the U.S. Military, which he says is also taking on an anti-Christian tone.

As evidence of this, McTernan points to a report done by a man named Major Brian L. Stuckert in May of 2008 – link below. While that report was written several months before Obama took office, McTernan says that its contents, which were widely distributed within the military are cause for serious concern during an administration that continues to polarize America - at least in significant part – along Christian lines.

McTernan makes a strong case that Stuckert's report singles out the “Christian Right” and in no uncertain terms the beliefs of certain types of Chritians as potentially leading to an attempt by some unnamed foreign adversaries of the United States to polarize this nation by exploiting the beliefs held by such Christians. The irony is that the polarization today is not coming from any foreign adversary. It is coming largely from the Executive Branch of the United States government.

Making news recently was the Pentagon's turning away of Christian evangelist Franklin Graham from the National Day of Prayer for his comments about Islam. Meanwhile, representatives from extremely questionable and suspect Islamic groups – Islamic Society of North America – are counseling U.S. Troops in the name of diversity; Louay Safi held such a position at Fort Hood AFTER the attack by Major Nidal Malik Hasan.

On the 2008 campaign trail, Barack Obama called for a “Civilian National Security Force” that would be “just as strong, just as powerful, (and) just as well funded” as the U.S. Military. He has yet to clarify exactly what that meant. That lack of an explanation coupled with the continued polarization of America along Christian conservative lines has many seeking that clarity. If the U.S. Military is undergoing such a transformation that started before Barack Obama took office, how accepting would such a movement be to those ideas under the administration of a president who shares similar views?

Dear Red Blooded American...
CZARS: I am assuming that the issue of Presidents appointing Czars (a media term, NOT an actual title, most often used to describe people appointed by the President who do not need Senate approval), has been something you have been crusading against for a very long time.

Please direct me to your past outcries of the system. There should be a lot in your recent history since GWB appointed 47 - more than ANY other President before or since.

BAILOUTS: Please support your argument with facts. Is the free market not working in the airline industry (2001 bailout); at Chrysler (1980); New York City (1975)?

I am sure that you are aware that there are many more examples. I would love for you to share your past outrage for these bailouts.

I am kind of confused because I am sure that you realize that the biggest bank bailout, TARP, came to fruition before Obama became President so your vitriol aimed specifically at Obama is quite confusing.

HEALTH CARE: I think perhaps you are confusing what certain media outlets are saying about Health Insurance Reform and reality. The bill was to reform INSURANCE not control the industry. Check the CBO for who is paying for it.

FREEDOMS: Why are you timid about stating the fact of the freedoms that are being eroded? I'm not...

The biggest erosion of our freedoms happened less than a decade ago and were affirmed again a mere 4 years ago.

Since that is very recent history I'm sure you will be able to provide links to your disgust and fears of the dismantling of the Constitution.

I look forward to your links and fact filled, hyperbole lacking reply.

To Christy
Let's be honest...there are some people who think socialism is a good thing, and if you're one of them, of course you would not see these changes as a threat to our freedom. So as to avoid "hyperbole," I will give you some examples:

Czars - This circumvents a checks and balances system by allowing people who were not voted into office the power to promote the president's agenda.

Banks/GM Bailout - Whenever the government is allowed to control sectors of the economy, it deters the the free market system from working.

Health Care - Good grief, I don't even know where to start with this one! It's never a good idea for the government (who can't even run the post office) to have control over 1/6th of the economy, let alone have power in making and controlling decisions about people's medical conditions. For those who think the Republicans are a bunch of meanies for not wanting everyone to have health insurance, it begs the question, "Who is paying for it?" While there is a need for health insurance reform, this is not the route to take.

I could go on and on about how our freedoms are (not so) slowly being eroded, but I fear it would fall on deaf ears because you've already made up your mind.

And that's another problem, the polarization taking place among Americans is further dividing our country.

Any President will have security. He just had a guy show up to one of his events who did not like him recently/so of course protection should be really tight. I would want my Republican President and or any President to safe. This is not Political. This is reality. And I would pray for President whom ever it may be.

Dear Red Blooded American...
What EXACTLY are you referring to?

No hyperbole please, no fear mongering, no repeating without research - just facts.

How is the government trying to take over your life?

What freedoms is the government attempting to take away?

To Mark
It isn't surprising that name calling has come from an Obama supporter. That's usually how people respond when they're afraid. The fact is our country is a right-center country (probably not the case where you live, but that's not representative of most of the country) and we're sick and tired of how the government is trying to take over our lives and take away our freedoms. It has nothing to do with race, but that's always the card that gets played when the opposition doesn't have a valid argument. Why can't you just see that average Americans are fed up with how things are going without resulting to name calling?

Security is NOT a Political Issue
I have been to many, many number of George W. Bush protests (with and without him present).

The law enforcement detail in attendance was always amazing.

SWAT, police in riot gear were, snipers, etc...were ALWAYS in attendance when GWB was at an event and sometimes they were there even when he wasn't.

Civil rights were violated. Walking on the sidewalk was a crime. I was told on numerous occasions that while I was "right" with regard to laws, I would go to jail first and be released after the event.

High security protecting our President is nothing new. It is not a political issue.

I think that if ANY President were to show up without proper security it would be a major error, but after being threatened it would be utterly stupid.

The effect of the tea-baggers
The tea-baggers are just a sad group of old, white, rich, malcontent republicans who hate blacks, hispanics, asians, the middle class and the poor and hate the fact that we have a black president. When they howl "TAKE BACK AMERICA!!!" they mean to take it back from the minorities. Luckily the middle class and the poor far outnumber the tea-baggers so they will have little effect in November.
