The Doctrine Of Balaam The Doctrine of Barack and The Doctrine of Devils: Part One
On May 17 2009 President Barack Obama gave a commencement speech at Notre Dame University in the midst of controversy. Numerous people were arrested across the campus and some were led out of the commencement ceremonies.
Fox news reported that “On the specific issue of abortion, Obama urged the public to at least agree that it is a "heart-wrenching" decision for any woman, and that the country should work to reduce the number of women seeking abortions by reducing unwanted pregnancies…” President Barack Obama’s solution he stated at Notre Dame is the same one he stated while running for President, two and a half years ago.
In that speech Obama said, “I also believe that we cannot ignore that abstinence and fidelity may too often be the ideal and not the reality—that we are dealing with flesh and blood men and women and not abstractions—and that if condoms and potentially microbicides can prevent millions of deaths, they should be made more widely available. I know that there are those who, out of sincere religious conviction, oppose such measures. And with these folks, I must respectfully but unequivocally disagree.” What our future President was advocating was and is to give people condoms so that they can fornicate responsibly. Barack Obama claims to be a Christian, a follower of Christ, and not only does he advocate the shedding of innocent blood, he is an advocate of the Doctrine of Balaam, which in light of Scripture shows he is not a Christian nor a follower of Christ.
Last March I posted an article entitled Sex education and the Doctrine of Balaam that touched on this doctrine. Revelation 2:14 says, “But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.” The doctrine of Balaam is teaching someone “to cast a stumbling block before” someone, to teach them to fornicate, to engage in sexual immorality. The passages that give the background to Revelation 2:14 are Numbers 22-25; Numbers 31:1-20. The main details of this history are these: When Israel left Egypt on their way to Canaan, they came into the area of Moab and Midian, out of fear, the king of Moab and the leaders of Midian hired the Prophet Balaam to pronounce a curse upon Israel, but because God was really speaking through Balaam and because Israel was God’s Covenant people, all he could do was bless Israel. After a number of failed attempts to curse Israel, we see Balac and Balaam seemingly part ways amid the frustration of not being able to accomplish the goal, but something very sinister was being plotted by these two that is not immediately revealed in the text. After the two part ways, Israel begins having idolatrous sexual orgies with the Moabite/Midianite women. An apt description of one of those encounters reveals the righteous reaction of God and his people.
Numbers 25:6-9 “And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest saw it, he rose up from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand;
And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.”
The man and woman were having sex when Phinehas executed them. This execution by Phinehas halted a plague that killed over 20,000 Israelites, and God commended Phineas for the action.
What Balaam taught Balac was that Balac could trap Israel into sinning against God, then God would punish them. The plan called for Balac to send seductive women into the Israelite camp in order to seduce them into fornication and the sexual idolatry of Baal worship. Balaam ended up losing his life for this “doctrine”. Instructing individuals how to fornicate or seduce other individuals to fornicate is a sin that in the church of Pergamos which is object of the Revelation 2:14 verse and the church of Thyatira in Revelation 2:18-24:
“And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more that the first. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.”
Teaching individuals to fornicate and to seduce others to fornicate is the doctrine of Balaam. In Revelation 2:23 Jesus threatened to kill Jezebel’s children because of it and Jesus compared it to knowing “the depths of Satan”. Barack Obama’s plan to pass out condoms so that people can fornicate without the threat of spreading sexually transmitted disease or of getting pregnant is the same doctrine. It is in many of our churches today in the form of sex education by religious, but by no means Christian organizations. It was preached from the pulpit at Saddleback Church on the first Friday in December. The often repeated cry is abstinence does not work, people are going to fornicate anyway so we must help them by giving them condoms so they will not get sexually transmitted diseases or pregnant. Never mind what the Bible says, no, “abstinence and fidelity may too often be the ideal and not the reality,” as Obama said. For a moment, lets put Barack Obama in Phineas’s spot. I can see him talking to Moses and saying, “Moses, abstinence and fidelity is not the reality, lets just let them fornicate, they are going to do it anyway. What we need to focus on is how to stop this plague that has killed over 20,000 of our people!” I wonder if he would have received a standing ovation.
