Palace Of Poets / Diana Kay

Warm night air like a blanket
Cooling breezes from the lagoon
Sweet songs carried softly
Lapping like the ink black water
Ebb and flow so gently
Peace and contentment
The quiet thrill of romance
In the city of dreams

Expressions of love in our family based on 1 Corinthians 13

Love is....

My love for Pip is
Patient and kind
Slow to anger
Always protects
Always hopes
Always perseveres

Goodbye Old Soldiers
Sound a fond Farewell
To the last living reminders
Of the War to end All Wars

People
backbiting
In fighting

Go very early into the garden
While the world still slumbers
Darkness covering like a blanket
The night air still heavy with God’s tears

I wish for you, my friend,

To feel the gentle breeze
That rustles and moves the leaves
The warmth of the sun
Dappled and softened through the shade
And to see the sky, blue without a cloud.

Bitterness started to grow in my garden
Little green shoots
So like the grass
But I could see a fullness in the leaves
I knew it was unwelcome
But with the mower I soon
Trimmed the lawn
Short , neat and so tidy
Everything seemed in order
In my garden.

A
Sultry summer day
Warm air caresses
Wraps me in a blanket
Feeling
Stresses
Slowly
Slip
away

Wash me Lord
Not a little sprinkling
But a drenching dousing torrent
Soaking every part of me
Hair clothes and to the skin
Cooling refreshing invigorating
Dripping dropping delighting
Let me open my mouth
Drink in the cold water
Wet on my tongue
Swallowing,
Laughing
Frolicking

Waves of emotion crashing like the sea
Ebbing and flowing in torrents
Weariness and soul sapping pain
Tears in unexpected bursts
But STILL God's love holds me
He will not let me go
He holds me fast
Until the storm abates
And the rainbow comes

Lying in your strong arms
Safe and secure
Wrapped tightly
Feeling protected
Knowing your love
Hearing your heartbeat
Lulling me, soothing me
rocking me so gently
My mind stops spinning
My body stops wriggling
And my soul is quietened
My worries and anxieties
Slip away

I lay in the warm safety of your Lap
Cozy and cuddled with love
You smelt of lavender
Your chin tickly
When you kissed me
Skin wrinkled
Your powdered smiling face
Kind grey eyes
White wispy hair
My Grandma
