I climbed the mountainside
Clambered over rock and stone
Felt the peace of solitude
On its peak silently alone
Stars they dance at God’s command
Light up their eyes to brighten night
The moon it joins them hand in hand
With reflective face to a greater light
When wondering eyes viewed foreign shore
Of promised land never seen before
And treasured friend with smiling face
Welcomed another one with warm embrace
I’m a narrowed minded Christian
Because I walk a narrow way
Jesus told me to walk in it
And never from it to stray
They held each others weathered hands
On their fingers faded golden bands
Time had marched on, now late in life
Sixty years had passed as man and wife
There is another flower that will blossom
In God’s beautiful
garden above
Another jewel to adorn His golden crown
For a
soul has been overcome by His love
Laughing wind it plays in delightful glee
With drifting leafs
from off the tree
They dance with her in circles round
Then
rest themselves upon the ground
It sparkles at the breaking day
The sun kissed dew of early
morn
Like countless jewels on display
The grassy fields with
beads adorn
They whipped His back until it ran red
A crown of thorns
crushed on His head
They spat at Him and struck His face
And
on wooden cross they did Him place
With joyful heart our voices raise
To God our Savior we bring you praise
In happy melody we will sing
Words of worship to our King
Verily I say on to you
All those with ears to hear
Love I am pure and true
Embrace me as I draw near
Nothing have you done
ThatI can not forgive
I am God's only Son
Needing me for you to live
Eternally in my love
Before angels beheld His holy face
And stars stood not in
their place
When no creature breathed living air
In eternal
dwelling my God was there
By the touch of His hand the great architect
Drew the plans of
creation and brought it into effect
And all in the sea; in the
air and on the land
Were built to perfection by the great
builders hand
Weeping leaves like golden tears
Kissing gently frosted
ground
Beneath gnarled tree; soft under feet
A golden carpet
spreads around
Speak to me softly; tell me again
The name above others given
to men
Whisper it slowly once more in my ear
The name of
Jesus I am longing to hear
Cooling breath of a whispered wind
That kisses the beaded
brow
Of sweated effort in strenuous task
That a man who
labours now
