We give thanks for our family
And for all that we share together;
Keep us safe and in your fatherly care.
How in the world can we pray without ceasing in a literal sense? I mean, we have to eat, go to work, sleep, do chores, shop for groceries… you get the picture. At this point, we were tempted to head in one of two directions: decide that “without ceasing” is not intended to be applied literally; or, re-examine our definition of prayer....
Come into our lives, Lord
Come and saves us
From all our worries,
Our daily problems.
Makes us strong and
Mighty, through the power
of your word.
Bless this night, oh Lord, we pray,
Bless our families we love
so dear,
Bless our friends far and near—
Lord, give peace in
every way.
A prayer based on Psalm 6, for all those who are hurting. In the generation that we live, crying out to God is a necessity. May these words inspire you to talk to your heavenly Father. He is always ready and willing to hear and help you. Give God your problems, there is no need to carry the burdens of life when the Lord can do it for you.
Gracious Heavenly Father,
The financial crisis in our nation seems never-ending; every day we hear of additional business closures. Even some reading this prayer have lost jobs and are looking for work; a few have had to choose between food and rent or gas. Heaviness and fear weigh them down and every waking moment is filled with worry over the future. We ache for them, Jesus, and we know you empathize with them even more than we do, because you love them so much.
LONDON, ENGLAND - As millions around the world gathered for the 11th Annual Global Day of Prayer on Pentecost Sunday (June 12, 2011), churches of all denominations and ethnic backgrounds across London and throughout the British Isles prayed as the heavens poured out rain to end the season of drought.
Many farming communities rejoiced to see their land soaked which was a poignant prophetic sign that prayers will end the spiritual drought in Britain.
1 John 5:14-15 says: And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Christmas is over and another year is drawing to a close. As 2010 approaches and I reflect back on the past 12 months, I thank God for all he has done in my life. I praise God for big blessings and small as each one etches itself as a memory for the future.
In the sad times and the bad
In the sorrow of my pain
In
the darkness of the night
Oh, how I love the presence of my
Lord.
Psalms 121:7-8
"The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come to you today on behalf of all adults and children who have been or will be affected by the Swine Flu. At this point we don't know if this scare is much-ado-about-nothing or a true worldwide pandemic as some predict. Neither do we know if any in our little group will be personally affected. But we do know that several people have already died in Mexico; we do know that those families are already grieving and perhaps suffering from the illness themselves. Please comfort them, Jesus; please protect them. Give them access to doctors and medicine and grant wisdom to caregivers.
