COLUMBUS, OH - Documents and information provided by an abortion whistleblower indicate that botched abortions occur much more often than the public is led to believe. Transcripts provided to Operation Rescue show disturbing information about two botched abortions that took place at different abortion clinics in Columbus, Ohio, within the past month.

NEW YORK (C-FAM) -- Barack Obama’s sterling image among Kenyans has dimmed in the wake of a $23M U.S. campaign to promote a draft constitution that included abortion rights. The U.S. promoted the new constitution as a way to stop gross presidential power and corruption. Opponents say that same power and corruption were used to convince many Kenyans, falsely, that the document was pro-life. The constitution passed with 67% in favor on August 4th.

NEW YORK (C-FAM) -- A United Nations (UN) treaty committee notorious for its promotion of abortion and ideological positions not supported by UN treaties, concludes its session this week after launching attacks on motherhood and traditional gender roles, while calling for an ever-expanded array of new sexual and reproductive “rights.” The session was especially notable for the statement by the Russian Federation, which reported that decreasing abortion rates were helping to decrease the overall maternal mortality rates in that country.

Amendment 62, Colorado’s Personhood Amendment, announces its launch as it prepares to pass Amendment 62 in November’s election.

Amendment 62, cosponsored by Colorado Right to Life and Personhood Colorado, states " Person defined. As used in sections 3*, 6**, and 25*** of Article II of the state constitution, the term "person" shall apply to every human being from the beginning of the biological development of that human being."

WASHINGTON, DC - Yesterday the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia issued its decision finding that doctors doing adult stem cell research have 'competitive standing' to sue. Therefore, the court reinstated the doctors' federal lawsuit, filed last summer that seeks to preliminarily enjoin and ultimately overturn the controversi al guidelines for public funding of embryonic stem cell research that the National Institutes of Health issued on July 7, 2009.

The Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer notes a study in the journal, Cancer Epidemiology, reporting that Sri Lankan women with abortions more than tripled their breast cancer risk (3.42 odds ratio). Abortion was the most significant factor in the study. Researchers found a significantly reduced risk associated with prolonged duration of breastfeeding and a nearly tripled increased risk from exposure to passive smoking. The study entitled, "Prolonged breastfeeding reduces risk of breast cancer in Sri Lankan women: A case-control study," was led by Malintha De Silva and colleagues from the University of Colombo.
