quarterback's influence
IRVING, TX - Can he play? Should he pray? What's
his future? If
you think Tebow mania is history
because the Broncos will not play in
Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, guess
again.
NFL Network plastered Tebow's image in its promotion of the station's upcoming NFL Draft coverage. Then, on Jan. 27, NBC announced programming that coincides with the 18-plus hours of Super Bowl coverage planned to run on all of its networks. The Broncos quarterback is scheduled to appear on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" on Feb. 1.
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - When Nate Lytle faced a life-or-death struggle after suffering a traumatic brain injury, he touched people's lives without even knowing it.
On June 3 2007,
right after
competing in his first surfing contest, Lytle said on his
web site that surfing
may have become a distraction in hearing from
God. As he drove home that night,
Lytle made a commitment to God that
he wouldn't surf for a whole year.
The next day, his web
site said, Lytle fell from the top of a ten foot ladder,
shattering
his skull and leaving him with a severe brain injury. He was not
expected to live, and even if he did survive, the doctors said he
would never
walk, talk, or communicate again. As word spread about
Lytle's condition while
in a coma, his surfing buddies urged one
another on with the phrase "Pray
for Nate."

...how to “achieve financial stability…” regardless of the economy.
(Photo: By Maxine & Charlie Marsolini)

What does ordained minister and CPA, Charlie Marsolini have in common with the Mafia, a father who was “… a powerful capitone… in the Mafia.”
As a youngster, that imposing connection made pride well up in Charlie when he walked down Hanover Street with his dad. Those who owed his father money would move to the “…far side of the street…” in fear, in contrast to those who didn’t owe anything. Yet, even they treated Charlie and his father with deference and respect. That taught Charlie two things: the power of money, and never to borrow money you couldn’t pay back—otherwise it could result in “…terrible consequences.”

Beth’s insightful comments are especially useful. Short sections on life, relationship with God and how to pray for missionaries,
(Photo: Compilation by Beth More)

These short essay style devotions from Christian evangelists remove missionaries from the category of “…faceless far-removed folks.” They become “…live, flesh-and-blood people just like you and me,” writes Beth Moorein her introduction to Voice of the Faithful, Book One.
Beth uses a string of Christmas lights as an analogy of who God intends Christians to be like. She writes. “We’re meant to be like multicolored Christmas lights attached to one electrical cord called the Holy Spirit…strung strategically over the earth…shining more brightly because we know others are there.”

Excellent, insightful topics obscrued by explicit, graphic sexual content...
(Photo: By Mark and Grace Driscoll)

When Seattle pastor, Mark Driscoll and wife Grace of Mars Hill 7,000 member church, use “Sex” in their book title, the usage suggests a biblical context.
While they do use Scripture, in Real Marriage: The truth about Sex, Friendship and Life…the title doesn’t mention the “down-to-earth” sexuality that obscures elements of an otherwise excellent book.

Tyndale: The Man Who Gave God an English Voice Explores Life and Work of William Tyndale
NASHVILLE, TN - Author and musician David Teems introduces readers to one of the most important, yet least celebrated, heroes of the Christian faith in his new book, "Tyndale: The Man Who Gave God An English Voice."
A news release for the book stated that in the early 16th century, an age of treachery and religious oppression, William Tyndale made the Holy Scriptures available to the English people at large by translating them into a language they could understand. An English Scripture in 1526 was against the law in England.
