So our very southern, used to the warm temperatures family decided to take a vacation into the mountains and stay in a log cabin.  We packed our luggage, all of our luggage, for all six of us, and then probably a few more families.  My husband loaded the van down after very patiently waiting on me.  Our original plan, O.K., his original plan was to leave by 8:00 a.m.  We finally pulled out of the driveway around 10:00 a.m.  We didn�t actually leave the city until about 11:00 a.m. after potty breaks, refueling, etc.  We were off to a great start.  I had been checking the weather periodically because we were hoping that our deprived children would be able to witness snow firsthand.  Surprise!   It appeared as though the day before our trip the snow began to fall as well as the temperatures at home.  It was colder than typical for Savannah with highs in the mid to upper forties and lows in the upper twenties.  Now, up in the mountains the temperatures had been comparable to what we were experiencing at home.  That is until the day before our trip and the arctic front decided to move in, the first, arctic front that is.  We were so excited that we were going to get to play in the snow.  If it�s going to be cold, it may as well snow.  If you have read any of my older or first articles, you will know that life with my family and me in particular is assured a life of excitement and drama.  No vacation goes without it in this family.

REFLECTIONS OF HIS GLORY

A new decade is upon us bringing a time of reflection, recall, and reminiscing. Regardless of how daunting this past year has seemed or how exhausted I may feel from it, as I reflect on years passed and all that has transpired in my life in such a relatively short amount of time I cannot help but realize how truly blessed I really am. Just ten years ago I was only twenty-four years old and my oldest daughter had just turned five years old. This also means that we had just met the most incredible man of our lives the prior year, my husband. My life had taken a drastic turn in the beginning of 2000. I had been working in customer service positions for far too long and made a transition into the human resources department for Birch Telecom in Irving, TX. I was fired by my manager because of my religious beliefs and duly received unemployment compensation after a short fight that she put up. God had called for a change in my life and orchestrated every move.

Well folks, here is another example of just how sinister our government really is. It was all laid out for us.  It is much like a suicidal person screaming out for help giving their loved ones sign after sign.  They are begging for someone to notice their despair and anguish.  They are yelling out to those around them, 'Please notice that I am emotionally unstable and am contemplating irrational behavior. Yet, somehow I am still rational enough to realize that it is irrational, but I am on the verge of not being able to control myself so I am reaching out to those who I hope love me enough to help me and will stop me.'   That suicidal person, that irrational person, is the suicide bomber, Al-Qaeda, the Christmas Day Terrorists known as Umar Abdulmutallab, Maj.Nidal Malik Hasan from Ft. Hood, and all other terrorists.

DEAR SENATORS, CONGRESSMEN, AND REPRESENTATIVES OF ALL 50 STATES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

I am ashamed to see so many American politicians supporting an unconstitutional bill on health care reform. The government has no place in running the health care industry or forcing/mandating health care upon American citizens. This is an unjust action and form of socialism. The Health Care Bill 3200 is an infringement on our rights and liberties. In all of history a program like this has not been successful and has in fact, increased the debt of that state or nation. Lawmakers are employed by the people and for the people, not for yourselves and your own interests. To add the KENNEDY HEALTH CARE BILL is shameful and placing yourselves above the citizenry, which is again, unconstitutional.

GOP AT RISK?

I was recently asked by a friend if I thought the Republican Party was at risk of dying out to a third party. This friend of mine has been with the party for a long time, as I have. I considered myself a Republican long before I could even legally vote. No one told me to be Republican, or forced me into it. From a very early age I recognized that my views and beliefs were in line with that of those elected officials who were called Republicans.

In all my life I have never seen such fear and concern for the future of America as I do now. I have thought long and hard back into my childhood, wondering if there was something I have overlooked. Was there a time when Americans were truly afraid of losing their constitutional freedoms and rights? Was there a time when Americans feared their own government so much that they began building safe houses within their homes, food storage rooms, and making plans for the worst possible scenario? Was there a time in my childhood when the American people feared the government would take over a majority of the industries pushing the nation to a socialistic state? If there was I was not at all aware of it.

Times have changed, technology has improved, and communication has come a very long way. When My Space first came out, I was not a big fan of the whole idea. I though it was rather self-centered and a waste of time. It appeared to be a lure for hackers and predators. I was turned off completely. After being separated from our family for several years and missing them, I found myself longing for updates and pictures on everyone. Phone calls are nice but not always feasible or conducive to a home full of screaming and crying children. Email is fine too, but still seems somewhat slow and still not as personal or community like. For the past several years I have been primarily a wife and stay at home mom. I have focused solely on raising my children, housework, wifely duties, cooking, etc. Then it happened. The pendulum shifted in the political arena and our government took a turn in a direction that jolted me. At first my father, of all people, had sent me an invitation to join FaceBook. Hesitantly I did. At first, I was not sure I wanted to. I was very particular about who I would let on my page. I still am and have my securities set high. Not just any Joe Blow can invite me to be a friend. I have to invite them. No one can see my pictures or my information. I don't post much about my children or their information. I do not post my address, etc. All that security stuff aside....I LOVE FACEBOOK! What has FaceBook done for you? Please share your comments and how FaceBook has helped you, changed your life, or been a support system for you.
