BRENHAM, TX - This annual event scheduled for Saturday, April 14th starts off at Brenham High School in scenic and historic Washington County. Dark comedy won best play at 2009 Tony Awards

We can all be a little immature, especially when it comes to our children.

Blinn College Theatre Arts explores that idea with “God of Carnage,” an award-winning play that tells the story of two sets of parents who meet to resolve a conflict that began with an altercation between their children. But as the evening progresses, these “civilized” parents grow increasingly childish.

“All four characters are very, very selfish,” explains Blinn Theatre Arts Director Bradley Nies. “They’re really very nice and friendly at the beginning, but by the end it’s just chaos.”

“odd Tales” won Texas theatre association’s PlayFest Award

Six Blinn College students presented “odd Tales,” an award-winning play written by Blinn Theatre Arts Director Bradley Nies, at the Texas Educational Theatre Association (TETA) Convention recently in Houston.

Nies’ play had been awarded the TETA’s 2012 PlayFest Award.

“I was really proud of what the kids did,” Nies said. “We were in a banquet room, so the acoustics were terrible, but our students projected well and the audience really laughed.”
