Both Matthew and Mark recorded these words cried out by Jesus on the cross. These same words occur interesting enough in the opening verse of the Twenty Second Psalms. Yet neither Matthew nor Mark referred to them as a fulfilment of prophecy and after six hours of agony in body and soul on the cross, this cry escapes from our Saviours lips. There were not many words spoken by Jesus while he was on the cross. The words He spoke were recorded specifically.
This is the fourth installment of the Parable of the Sower and deals with worry, cares, and lusts choking the word of God out of our lives. We as over-comers and more than conquerors must not allow that to happen.
None of us like to acknowledge, admit or accept guilt, but we have all at one time felt guilty, and because we have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God, we have all been guilty. As a five year old autistic, he HAS agendas. And his mom, dad, brother, sister, teachers, and pets are repeatedly throwing wrenches in them. Agendas include (but are not limited to) measuring crayons throughout the house, lining up Hot Wheels down the staircase, placing stickers in strategic locals (on mom’s rearview mirror, for example). Though the ‘novice’ might interpret David’s plans as misguided, the scheming is very calculated, methodical, and purposeful. And, (dare I say it) …weird.
God's desire is that we show each other love as He showed us when He sent, shared and sacrificed His Son. Surprisingly we as saints of God most times think only of satisfying self. But God will allow saints and sinners to be stingy, stubborn and selfish with their stash and seeds, so He can show you how sufficient He is when it comes to supplying all of your needs.
How do you react when life doesn't go as planned? Do you question God? Colt McCoy was a perfect example of how we should respond when life doesn't go our way.
