GARDEN VALLEY, TX - Today is “Give Kids a Smile Day.” While many dentists in the U.S. will contribute time to provide free oral health care services to children from low-income families across the country, Mercy Ships volunteer dental professionals are also doing the same and more in Lomé, Togo, alongside the Africa Mercy, the world’s largest privately owned hospital ship. In essence, the dental team celebrates “Bring Kids a Smile Day” everyday.

Dr. Doug Daehlin, from Spokane, Washington, is one of more than 400 Mercy Ships crew members, including dental team and oral/maxillofacial team members, who are currently volunteering their expertise in Togo. “While there are lots of opportunities to be a volunteer dentist around the world, I was immediately drawn to Mercy Ships. During my volunteer service, I will work side-by-side with dental colleagues from other parts of the U.S. and around the world. Our collaboration and exchange is an invaluable experience,” stated Dr. Daehlin.

Lamentations 5:1-22

Why do you forget us continually;
why do you abandon us
for such a long time?
[Lamentations 5:20]

For 151 verses, except for a brief respite in chapter 3, the writer of Lamentations has poured out his sorrow. Judah has fallen to the Babylonians. Jerusalem has been destroyed and the temple decimated. The people have suffered terribly, with many taken into exile.

Washington , D.C. - Tuesday, Susan G. Komen for the Cure announced that the foundation will not partner with Planned Parenthood affiliates in part because of a new policy against funding organizations under investigation.

Pla nned Parenthood is the nation's largest abortion provider, performing nearly 330,000 abortions in fiscal year 2010, while only making 841 adoption referrals during that time. Planned Parenthood has received hundreds of thousands of dollars annually for breast cancer prevention from Susan G. Komen. However, over the past year it became known that Planned Parenthood clinics do not perform mammograms but instead only perform manual breast exams. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has said that manual breast exams are not proven effective in screening for breast cancer; mammograms are needed.

Lamentations 4:1-22

It was because of her prophets’ sins,
her priests’ iniquities,
those who shed righteous blood
in the middle of the city.
[Lamentations 4:13]

Earlier in Lamentations, we saw that the Lord caused Judah’s grief “because of her many wrong acts” (1:5). More specifically, her prophets gave “worthless and empty visions,” which did not reveal Judah’s sin and lead the nation to repentance (2:14).

USTIN, TX  - Attorneys with Jubilee Campaign's Law of Life Project and two other pro-life legal defense organizations announced this morning that they have filed a new verified amended complaint, an amended motion for preliminary injunction and an application for temporary restraining order asking the federal court, no later than this Friday, to enjoin the Ordinance (Chapter 10-10) which the City of Austin enacted last Thursday right after they repealed a similar Ordinance (Chapter 10-9) ostensibly "to avoid further litigation costs."

As we await the coming of spring, we look forward to preparing the land and sowing good seed so that we will be blessed with an abundant harvest.

How will your garden grow that lies within the sanctuary of your heart? The garden within you needs constant preparation and sowing to continue to bring forth an abundance of good fruit.

Lamentations 3:31-66

We should lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven.
[Lamentations 3:41]

For the last several days, I have been mulling over the question “What enables us to keep on trusting in God’s faithful love when our lives are stung by suffering?” I’ve pointed to the encouragement we receive from Scripture, from Jesus Christ, and from Christian community. Today, I want to offer one further way to hang in there with God during difficult times.

Lamentations 3:1-30

The memory of my suffering and
homelessness is bitterness and poison.
I can’t help but remember
and am depressed.
I call all this to mind—
therefore, I will wait.
Certainly the faithful love
of the LORD hasn’t ended;

Jude 19 again affirms that these are not true believers. True believers would not behave and believe what these people do.
