Late last night as Mr. Rod and I drove back to Dohuk from al Kush, I couldn't help but allow my mind to wonder, "Now, how would this drive be if Saddam were yet the brutal dictator of Iraq?" As I continued to think, I felt sure in my spirit, as Mr. Rod, another American, continued the 40 minute drive, that If Saddam were yet in power our drive would certainly not be as peaceful as it was! The night was dark with lights shining off in the far distance, and the night air was not as hot as it had been in previous nights - there were no Hot July winds blowing off the heated terrain from the day's summer temps. Actually, the drive was nice and somewhat cool -- and so very peaceful. Mr. Rod and I talked as we
rode along about the evening we had just spent with the wonderful
Chaldean family in al Kush. The mother and three sons graciously invited
us over to the small Chaldean community and their home for a visit
and dinner... |

I awoke early this morning - 5:15am. It was already bright daylight! So, I got up and went to the window and looked outside - No traffic was moving anywhere- only two young boys walking down the street. I watched them from the window of my third floor apartment "day room" as they scurriedly moved down the street. I continued to watch for a few minutes, just enjoying the morning air, and then I came back to my bedside to do some reading. I was thinking about this area of the Middle East that I am in - Northern Iraq, and I wanted to read something that was of, or relating to the area. So, I opened my Bible and began to read the 'Story of Creation.' It is recorded in Genesis 1. I read all the first chapter of how God - our Wonderful Creator, created everything in six days - and "rested" on the seventh. I then began to read Chapter two and how God created man from a "handful of soil." He breathed life into him, and "the man started breathing." [Read More] |

This morning, I was reading from the
Book of Lamentations and ran across this very promising text from the Old
Testament prophet: Lamentations 3:21-24 -- (Lamentations
3:21-24) New International Version (NIV) 21"Yet this I call
to mind and therefore I have hope: 22 Because of the LORD’s great love
we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.23They are
new every morning; great is your faithfulness.24 I say to
myself, “The LORD is my portion; The book itself is a collection of five poems which express deep sorrow about the destruction of Jerusalem. The poems, actually called "laments," or lamentations, are presented as being spoken by the city of Jerusalem - and Israel as a whole, and by the writer who is called "the prophet" in the text. The prophet herewith has realized that Jerusalem was being punished
by God because the people had sinned greatly against Him. The suffering,
however, ... |

I was awakened the other morning at 3:57am and I knew right away that God wanted to ‘speak’ to me. In my adult life, many times when he has something to speak to me about, or impress upon my mind, He will wake me at just before 4am – but no later, usually, than 4am. On this particular morning, a Monday, 27 June 2011, I knew in my spirit that God was going to ‘impress’ me with something from the Holy Spirit. I rolled over on my left side and began to “listen.” For a number of weeks I had been “concerned” about the ‘happenings’ in downtown Dallas at the Dallas County Commissioners Court. I had been ‘disturbed’ at the abusiveness we were encountering at the hands of the County Judge and commissioners as we were trying to deliver our speeches to the court of our perceptions, and ‘wrong-doings’ we felt that had occurred since the first of January this year. So, the
more I ‘listened’ to God on this particular morning, the more I ‘felt’ God was

“No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is preserved." -Samuel Adams "On the contrary, when people are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign invaders." -Samuel Adams Samuel Adams wrote the above in the late 1770s and I reiterate here: "No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is preserved." George Washington warned us and all future generations, to "Beware of cunning, ambitious and unprincipled men." Benjamin Franklin added, "Our new Constitution
is now established, and has an appearance that promises permanency, but in th... |

There is No doubt in my mind that part of what we are seeing in the Middle East is a Rising Tide of Arab Nationalism! Frustrated at their defeat in the 1948 war against Israel and angry at the corruption of their "Westernized" ruler, King Farouk, the Egyptian army officers overthrew their monarchy in 1952. From that a revolutionary republic was established in Egypt which inspired others throughout the region. The dream of Arab unity, it seemed, was on the threshold of realization. The
radical new leader, Gamal Abdel Nasser, inspired Egyptians and Arabs everywhere
to throw out Western influence. Nasser nationalized the British- and
French-owned Suez Canal, leading to a British-French-Israeli military mission
to recover the canal and overthrow the "radical" Arab government
which was threatening Western and Israeli interests. But the Eisenhower
administration, fearful of increased Soviet influence in the region, forced the
allies to withdraw. The Soviet... |

Congress on 2 November 2010. For several weeks now, I have tried to complete this article for the Cypress Times Online Newspaper but just couldn't. Repeatedly, I have gone back to it with the same determination but always 'felt' there is so much more I want to say. Herewith, I will try to give you an overview of ‘Who’ and ‘What’ I am and what has driven me to make the 'announcement' back around August 1st. of 2009. First of all, I am in this position because of the love of God and country. My faith in God has always been important to me and the love of my country has always been one of the motivating factors prompting me to do whatever I have done. With the “approval of Congress” and
its leaders at an all-time low, “Why,” you would ask, “would anyone want to be
a part of them?” Believe me, I have asked myself that very question before. But, because of ‘Who’ I am, and ‘What’ I am, I
can no longer “stand on the sidelines” viewing what is happening to Am... |
